MDO operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 AM to 2 PM. MDO programming operates on a school calendar cycle; no summer program is offered. Our curriculum, age permitting, includes songs, arts and crafts, thematic units, letters and sounds, shapes, counting, numbers, daily Bible lessons, and gross motor play. Children also have ample opportunities for social interaction with their peers. First Baptist Church of Benton, through the Mother's Day Out program, aims to create a safe and enjoyable Christian environment for preschool-age children to learn and play.
The Department of Human Services fully licenses our program. Weekday preschool programming operates on a school calendar cycle; no summer program is offered. We use a state-approved curriculum called Adventures in Learning. We also use the Bible Connections for Adventures in Learning Curriculum. Children learn Bible memory verses in class and attend a weekly chapel service where they learn songs and lessons about the truths of God. Our program fosters a love of learning and a sense of safety, love, and respect within the school environment. Classroom centers invite children to play while encouraging independence and imaginative exploration. Play within classroom centers allows children to expand their language skills, vocabulary, and social development. Children have ample opportunities to develop their fine and gross motor skills. Fine motor skills are practiced using manipulatives and sensory play. Gross motor skills and locomotor movement are enhanced through gym and playground time. Our weekday preschool program is open to three and four-year-old children.
